The instrument consists of a stainless steel case in which is mounted an electrical heater to heat a test cup, liquid bath and the lid and shutter assembly. The lid and shutter assembly has a test flame size bead (4 mm diameter) mounted on it.
A mains gas inlet block is provided at the rear of the upper section of the instrument case. It comprises a 10 mm diameter hose nozzle and a pinch valve for gas flow control from a mains supply.
A controller has the facility to allow the user to vary the rise rate of the temperature.
